About Us
CssShift is a free, browser-based CSS gradient generator. It exists for one reason: gradients are easy to imagine and tedious to write. You know the blend you want in your head, but turning it into linear-gradient(135deg, ...) with the right stops, the right angle, and the right fallbacks means a loop of editing, saving, and refreshing.
The studio ends that loop. Every control — the color stop ruler, the angle dial, the draggable center crosshair — updates a live proof in real time, and the finished code is generated as you work: standard CSS, prefixed compatibility lines, a solid fallback, and a React inline style object.
What we believe
- Tools should be immediate. No sign-up, no upload, no waiting. Open the page and the studio is already on screen.
- Code output should be paste-ready. Real projects still support old browsers, so prefixes and fallbacks are generated by default, not hidden behind an option.
- Everything stays local. Your gradients are computed entirely in your browser. Nothing you design here is sent to a server.
Who it is for
Front-end developers converting a designer's HEX stops into shipped CSS, UI designers checking how a palette actually blends, and anyone maintaining a component library that needs consistent gradient tokens. The shareable URL encodes your whole gradient, so you can hand a link to a teammate instead of a screenshot.
CssShift is maintained by a small team of developers who like typography, ink, and well-formed output. If something is missing or broken, tell us — the studio improves through exactly that kind of mail.
