Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This is the privacy notice for cssshift.com, operated by CssShift ("we", "us"). It covers the information we deal with and the options open to you. Briefly: the colors, stops and angles you pick are computed locally and never leave your machine.

Scope of this policy

CssShift does one thing — as a CSS gradient generator it builds linear, radial and conic gradients visually with draggable color stops and live preview, then exports prefixed CSS or a React style object. It composes the gradient from the stops and angle you set, writes the standard background-image alongside vendor-prefixed fallbacks, and for conic gradients reports a solid fallback color taken from the first stop for browsers that do not support them. What follows concerns only that tool and the inputs involved in it.

Practically, all the calculation needs is the colors, stops and angles you pick. Typical reasons people open CssShift include getting a prefixed fallback for an older browser, and in every case the work happens on the visitor's own device rather than ours.

Data you give the tool

On cssshift.com the computation never leaves the browser. CssShift reads your input in the page itself, produces the result there, and sends nothing over the network — which is also why the tool goes on working if you disconnect after loading it.

Rights you can exercise

You may have statutory rights over personal data — to access, amend, erase or object to its processing, depending on your jurisdiction. You can exercise them by writing to us; in most cases there will be no stored data to act on.

Updates to this page

The policy is kept current with the site. When something material changes, the date at the top is updated so the revision is visible.

What is collected automatically

Standard server logs are generated when your browser requests a page. They cover technical details like your IP address, browser, referring URL and timestamps, and are used only to keep the site running and secure. None of it is linked to the input you give the tool.

How cookies and adverts work here

We use one first-party cookie for the consent choice and nothing more. Any other cookies come from advertising partners outside our control; they can be blocked or deleted in your browser, and doing so costs the tool nothing, because the calculation is independent of them.

What our statistics cover

We watch which of the CssShift tools get used, in aggregate, so that effort goes where it is useful. That is the extent of it — no individual profile, and no analytics event ever includes the values you entered.

What you paste is not uploaded

Code, configuration, tokens and API payloads you paste into a tool are processed locally. Nothing is uploaded, so nothing leaves a copy on a server — which also means you can use the tool on a string you would not want to send anywhere.

How long data is kept, and how it is protected

Because your inputs are never transmitted, there is no store of personal measurements to retain or protect. Standard security practice applies to the site itself, including HTTPS on every page.

Children

CssShift provides general-purpose tools and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
